Edward M. Sukiennik

Edward Michael Sukiennik, age 85, passed away March 3, 2024.

Edward was the beloved husband of Sylvia Sukiennik for 66 years; loving father of Edward Sukiennik, Michael Sukiennik, and John (Suzanne) Sukiennik; devoted grandfather of Melissa (Nick), Michael (Maddy), Amanda (Matthew), and Adam; proud great-grandfather of Kaiden and Riley; dear brother of his twin sisters, the late Joan and the late Jeannie; and brother-in-law of the late Robert and the late Jackie. He was also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Edward was a loving, faithful man to his sweetheart of 66 years. He was a tough-as-nails father whom his 3 sons looked up to with the utmost respect. He was always there to help or share his handyman expertise with whatever project or task his boys needed assistance with. Ed developed a loving bond with his daughter-in-law but referred to her as "his daughter". Ed softened a bit when his grandkids started arriving, and even more so when he became a great-grandfather! Grandpa was so very proud of them all. He cheered on his kids and grandkids at many sporting events, countless band concerts, competitions, and festivals along with marching band at football games, parades, and festivals. No matter the weather, he was always there! Nothing else in the world gave him the same sense of fulfillment and purpose. Ed did enjoy a few other things like watching Lions football and NASCAR. Ed was a dedicated worker at Schwartz Boring his whole career, retiring after 42 years. Ed will be missed always but remains forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Visitation Friday, March 8, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a 5:00 p.m. Prayer Service at Wysocki & Wilk Funeral Home, 29440 Ryan Road, Warren, Michigan. Instate Saturday, March 9, from 10:00 a.m. until the 10:30 Funeral Mass at St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Church, 26440 Ryan Road, Warren, Michigan. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Edward's memory may be made to either the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
