Thomas M. Boik, 90, from Warren, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 14, 2023 surrounded by his family in New Baltimore, MI.
Tom was born into a family of seven siblings in Hamtramck, Michigan on December 11, 1932 to John Boik and Jennie Nawrocki Boik. Growing up in Hamtramck, he was a determined paperboy that won a Ford coupe from the Detroit News at the age of 14. He met his future wife, Geraldine Owen at a wedding, and they were married on August 1, 1953. Shortly before their marriage, he had joined the army and just after their marriage Tom was sent to proudly serve on the front lines in Korea until December of 1954. Upon returning from the war, Tom had several jobs from gravedigger and painter to becoming a Line Repairman at Dodge Truck . After retirement in 1994, he and Geri enjoyed traveling the seas on cruises, either alone or with their 5 children. He loved music, gardening, taking walks and above all, his family. He will always be remembered for offering a helping hand to anyone, his generosity, work ethic and smile.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Owen Boik, whose love and support sustained him; children, David (married to Gail), Cynthia Paczkowski (married to Larry Paczkowski), Thomas A. (married to Lisa), Barbara Miklos (married to Arpad Miklos), and Jennifer Long (married to Scott Long). Grandchildren Megan (Brad) Atkin, Nicole (Josh) Smith, Thomas R., and Alexander Long.
