Alfred Lawrence Bury, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on December 8, 2024, in Warren, Michigan at the age of 101. Born on July 21, 1923, in Hamtramck, Michigan, Alfred's life was marked by service, family devotion, and a touch of humor that endeared him to many.
A proud veteran, he served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II, where he held the important role of a radar technician. His military service shaped much of his character, instilling in him a sense of duty and pride that he carried with him throughout his life.
Alfred was known for his remarkable ability as a handy-man; he could fix almost anything—or at the very least, he would give it a try. This knack for repairs extended beyond physical objects to the nurturing of relationships, fostering a legacy of love and support for his family.
He is survived by his children: Linda (Tom) Brylewski, David (Terry) Bury, Fred (Sue) Bury, Margaret (Chris) Butts, and Nancy (John) Resowski. Alfred was a cherished father, and his legacy continues through his 25 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom carry a piece of his spirit within them. He is also survived by his son-in-law, Brad Ball.
Alfred joins in eternal rest his beloved wife, Margaret, daughter, Marcia Ball, and four brothers: Clarence Bury, Leonard Bury, Raymond Bury, and Ernest Bury, who have preceded him in death.
