Avery Elizabeth Long, 12 years old, of Sterling Heights, Michigan, passed away suddenly on December 13th, 2018.
Funeral services will be held at David Wysocki Funeral Home, located at 29440 Ryan Road, Warren, Michigan 48092 on December 17, 2018.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service beginning at 7:00 p.m.
Avery was born in Troy, Michigan to Christopher & Christina Long on November 28, 2006 with her (older by a minute) big brother, Ethan.
She went to Havel Elementary and was in 6th grade. She was well liked by classmates & teachers, especially the younger children. She often helped the kindergarten classes & lunch monitoring.
Ethan described his sister as a nice, sweet, loving girl who had a HUGE personality.
To know Avery was to love Avery, quite simply she lit up a room.
Avery enjoyed being a Girl Scout, reaching the rank of Cadets. She often sold more than her share of Girl Scout Cookies & collected for the local Food Drives.

She was a member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians. When she was asked what her heritage was, she would proudly say American Indian & Polish. Avery was also Latvian & Ukrainian.
Avery enjoyed spending summers with her family and Girl Scouts going camping throughout Michigan.
Avery is survived by her grandfather, Frank Jansons of Casco, her grandparents, Michael & Nancy Long of Troy, her Aunt Lisa (Greg) Beltowski of Sterling Heights, & her Uncle Jeremy (Kimberly) Long of Livonia, and first cousin, Danielle as well as her many other relatives.
Avery is predeceased in death by her Grandmother, Theresa Jansons and her Aunt, Tammy Jansons.
The family wishes to extend their thanks and appreciation for the outpouring of love of our darling girl, Avery. Avery will remain in our hearts forever
