Cynthia L. Zitny, age 64, passed away December 19, 2024.
Cynthia Zitny was born on May 26, 1960, and lived most of her life in Sterling Heights, Michigan. She was educated at Stevenson High School, Macomb Community College, and Wayne State University, where Cynthia was awarded both a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in social work. She had licenses in both Clinical Social Work and Marriage and Family Therapy; Cynthia owned an outpatient mental health clinic in Sterling Heights for 21 years. Cynthia enjoyed helping her patients grow and touched countless numbers of hearts.
Cynthia was originally raised in the Baptist religion and converted to Catholicism. Cynthia and her husband, Dennis, were members of Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic Church and St. Basil Byzantine Church. Cynthia found herself called to be active in multiple ministries throughout her whole adult life. She had a particular love for her family, Eucharistic Adoration, the traditional Latin mass, prayer groups, the Rosary, cloistered nuns, and classical Catholic education. She was a tireless peacemaker and prayer-warrior who desired to help everyone get to heaven. Cynthia—a light of God who will truly be missed by all.
Cynthia was the beloved wife of Dennis Zitny for 25 years; daughter of the late William Thomas and the late Nancy Monick; dear sister of Sue (John) Hayes, Karen Thomas, and the late Rondall Malone; aunt of Marie, Charlie, Katie, and Ran; and great-aunt of Robbie.
