Darlene J. (Timmons) Pelkey

Darlene Joyce Pelkey of Warren passed away peacefully on Friday, May 28, 2021 at the age of 86.

She was surrounded by her children.  Darlene is being reunited with her husband Harold I. Pelkey, who predeceased her on Sept. 23, 2008 and her son, Kenneth Edward on October 21, 1988.  She is survived by her children Karen Esslinger (Robert); Harold J. Pelkey (Vickie) and Beth Ann Jenuwine (Tim); along with five grandsons: Bobby Esslinger (Jessica); Danny Esslinger (April); and Kenny Esslinger (Tricia), Joseph and Benjamin Pelkey.   She is also survived by her sister, Lois Herren and many nieces and nephews.

Darlene came into this world May 10, 1935.  She was a loving wife, mom, friend, and caregiver.  She was an independent, strong woman.  She will be remembered for her home-cooked meals, her clean home that always welcomed family, friends & neighborhood kids.  She was a long-time parishioner of St. Louise de Marillac.   She loved to clean house listening to the music of Roger Whitaker, Blake Shelton, Adele, John Legend, and more. She was always giving of her time, her guidance and understanding wisdom.  She had a silly sense of humor, always loved her ice cream, wanted to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, enjoyed hosting family gatherings and was an avid reader.   She will be greatly missed and thought of often.

Visitation Wednesday, June 2, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary Service at David Wysocki Funeral Home, 29440 Ryan Road, Warren, Michigan. Funeral Mass Thursday, June 3, starting at 10:00 a.m. at St. Louise de Marillac Catholic Church, Warren, Michigan. Interment will follow at Cadillac Memorial Gardens, East.
