Dolores A. Przybylski

April 3, 1932 — September 3, 2024

Warren, Michigan

Dolores Ann Przybylski, age 92, passed away September 3, 2024.

Dolores was the beloved wife of the late Gerald Przybylski; loving mother of Linda (Robert) Burk, Louis (Michele) Przybylski, Janine (Mark) Cochran, and Denise (Michael) Cleary; devoted grandmother of Tiffany (Kevin) Jacobson, Aaron (Lisa) Burk, Matthew (Jessica) Super, Sarah Super, Robert (Jia Liu) Przybylski, Katie (Mike Horowitz) Przybylski, Daniel (Denyé) Super, Shane (Janelle) Cochran, Erika (Jason Harris) Cleary; proud great-grandmother of Michael (Hannah), Blake, Camden, Li, and Laney.

Born in 1932 during the Great Depression, Dolores said “during my childhood we were poor but didn’t know it because we were happy, healthy and loved by family and friends”. At times she warmly reminisced about very special Christmas gifts provided to her and her siblings by the Salvation Army. Happy, healthy and loved by others and giving more than receiving were the themes of her life.

Dolores Farhat met the love of her life, Jerry Przybylski in their Detroit neighborhood when they were both 15 years old. They married at historic St Florian church in Hamtramck 4 years later. The wedding ceremony was followed by an epic celebration that included breakfast, lunch and dinner and an evening of dancing and music with of course some tunes on the accordion. When Jerry passed 2 years ago, they had been married 72 years.

Dolores’ Lebanese heritage joined with Jerry’s Polish heritage made for many large multi-cultural, scrumptious feasts that typically included grape leaves, hummus, kibbeh, kielbasa, pierogi and stuffed cabbage. Many have shared that these loving, festive gatherings are among their fondest lifelong memories that epitomize the authentic meaning of family.

Family, friends and neighbors were always welcome in Dolores and Jerry’s home where they would drop by to say hello, share their lives, receive some compassionate guidance or a soul nurturing bite to eat and leave feeling special and unconditionally loved.

Dolores enjoyed traveling with Jerry and family and friends. Their travels included many international cruises. They also enjoyed frequent visits to the New Jersey Atlantic Ocean coast with family. They loved dressing up for joyous Halloween parties and Dolores was passionate about working with ceramics.

Of her many names and titles, among her most cherished was grandma. She had 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 2 more great grandchildren due to join the family very shortly. Dolores and Jerry were at the hospital at the time of birth for most of their grandchildren and were ever-present in the lives. Her parenting skills and intuition were masterful, and she was a wonderful mother-in-law.

In her quiet, steady way, Dolores embraced hard work and aging without complaint. She will be deeply missed and her contagious warm smile, laughter, kindness and belief that all people have equal value will always be remembered and shall serve as our guiding light. We love you “mom, grandma, hun, habibi, Dolores”. May you be greeted in heaven with celebration and joy.
