Emerson L. Mix

Emerson L. Mix, age 89, passed away November 2, 2020.

Emerson was the beloved husband of Mary B. Mix; loving father of Douglas (Leslie) Mix, the late Jacqueline Easterbrook, and Evelyn Victor; devoted grandfather of 16 and great-grandfather of 27; and father-in-law of Eric Easterbrook.

Emerson Mix was a man defined by his cheerful and friendly demeanor, deep faith, devotion to family and friends, and hard work.  One could not escape his presence without hearing one of his one-liners.  He had a great sense of humor and loved to share it with others.  It gave him great pleasure to fill a room with love and laughter.  Emerson was also a man who was devoted to and loved God.  He was an active member at The Woods Church in Warren, Michigan.  He loved his community of friends there.  He had a group of friends that he would visit at the Oakland Mall as well.  They could often be found in the food court sharing stories about friends that had come and gone.  Above all, Emerson loved and cared for his family.  He had great mechanical knowledge and often used his skills to help his family and others.  Emerson was loved by his family.  He will be missed.  But we are celebrating his reunion with his wife, Mary and daughter, Jackie.  We know that one day we will all be reunited.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 21 at 11:00 a.m. with a gathering time starting at 10:30 a.m. It will be held at The Woods Church, 14300 E. 13 Mile Road, Warren.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in remembrance of Emerson's wife, Mary, to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org).
