Jerry Allen Lynn, age 73, passed away February 23rd, 2022, in Madison Heights, Michigan. He was born in Highland Park, Michigan on July 27th, 1948, and was the dear son of Marcellus Dyer Lynn and Bessie Tapp Hearin.
Jerry was a proud member of the Roofers Union - Local 149 for 49 years. During those years, he served as Vice President and was a member of the Executive Board. His dedication to his Union and the brotherhood was infinite.
Jerry’s favorite musical artists were the great Jackie Wilson and Elvis Presley. He loved to ride his Harleys, play golf, and watch sports, westerns, and old Hollywood movies. Jerry was a generous, charismatic man who touched everyone’s life he walked into. He was a hard worker and always had great words of wisdom to share. He was a dynamite dancer and was always the life of the party.
He is survived by his children: Lisa Lynn and John Lynn, along with grandsons: John Lynn, Jr, Jamie Lynn, and Brandon Lynn, and granddaughter Samantha Lynn; a sister, Marcella, along with her children: John (Cathy) Gurnow II, Cheryl (Tom) Langewicz, and Ron (Amy) Gurnow; great-nephews and great-nieces: John Gurnow III, Lauren Gurnow and Geoff (Allison) Gurnow; Jamie Langewicz and Tom Langewicz, Jr; and Cheri Gurnow and Garrett Gurnow.
He is also survived by his nephew Don (Marcia) Lynn, along with great-nephews: Nick (April) Lynn and their children, Emma and Oliver, great-nephew Corey Lynn; a niece Debi Edwards; Mary, his long-time girlfriend of 10 years who cared for him during his health battles in recent years; and an immense number of friends, riding buddies, and union brothers.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 1st from 3 pm – 8 pm at David Wysocki Funeral Home located at 29440 Ryan Road in Warren, Michigan. Visitation will continue Wednesday, March 2nd from 9 am until the time of the 11 am Funeral Service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Cadillac Memorial Gardens-East in Clinton Township, Michigan.
