It is with the heaviest of hearts to announce the passing of Leonida “Leony” Hilario Dela Cruz on December 30, 2021; she was 76 years old.
Leony was a caring and loving mother, wife, sister, and daughter. Family was very important to her as she was to her family. She sacrificed years of being separated from them working as a nurse overseas to provide for and ensure them of a better life. In every aspect of her life, Leony never lost sight of what was best for her family.
Leony's career spanned 40 years where she worked as a Registered Nurse in the Philippines, Canada, and United States. Nursing was not just a career for her, but a calling. The compassion, patience, and empathy she gave her patients did not stop at her job; it continued into her personal life. She tended tirelessly to her dying father, her husband, looked after her children, her nieces, and nephews. She had always put other people's needs before herself.
Leony will be missed terribly by her children and their family: Rorie, Buddy, Erin, Liam, Gab, Aldrick, Kathy, Joshua, Jeremie, Lyndy, Eric, Rhomir, Eva, Breena, Emma, Sofia, Bess, and Basil. She will forever be remembered as a loving, caring, giving, selfless mother and grandmother. She will be buried in Everest Hills Memorial Park, Muntinlupa City, Philippines, where she will join her husband, Artemio, daughter Carmen, son Miromar. We love you Nay…!
