Lorraine Agnes Witkowski

April 20, 1927 — January 16, 2025

Madison Heights

In loving memory of Lorraine Agnes Witkowski (nee: Dombrowski), who gracefully entered into God's care on January 16, 2025, at the age of 97. Born on April 20, 1927, in Hamtramck, Michigan, Lorraine was a radiant spirit, whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of many.

Lorraine dedicated her career to the Michigan Employment Security Commission (MESC), where she served with distinction before retiring. Her life's work was marked by a deep commitment to helping others, a trait that endeared her to colleagues and clients alike. A graduate of St. Ladislaus High School and Royal Oak College of Business, her intellect was matched only by her unwavering dedication to her family and community. Lorraine's dedication being apparent with her commitment to the city of Madison Heights since 1954 when she first moved there.

As a daughter of Polish immigrants, Lorraine took great pride in her heritage, embedding its rich traditions within her daily life. She possessed an insatiable love for reading, traveling, and embracing the wonders of the world, along with a passion for animals. Her musical tastes were refreshingly diverse, spanning genres from country to salsa, as she found joy in the melodies that echoed the tapestry of her life.

Her life and journey in faith stretched Lorraine's entire life. She was one of the founding member families of St. Dennis Parish and Bishop Foley High School. She was very active in her church community, volunteering her time and energy toward numerous activities, including being a long-time member of their Mom's Club. Her love of music and her Polish heritage led her to join the Filarets Choir, an adult Polish choir group.

Lorraine is survived by her devoted children, Denise Warren (nee: Witkowski) and Wayne Witkowski, who carry forward the legacy of their mother's spirit and love. She was also a Godmother, aunt, and friend to many who will miss her. They are wonderfully reminded of her unwavering strength and compassion through cherished memories and shared experiences.

She joins her beloved siblings in eternal rest: Joseph (Helen) Wasielewski, William (Irene) Wesley, and Jennie (James) McMurray. Her absence will be felt deeply, yet the imprint of her love and guidance will remain forever etched in the hearts of those she touched.

The journey of remembrance will commence with visitation services held at Wysocki & Wilk Funeral Home, located at 29440 Ryan Rd, Warren, MI 48092, on January 22, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, with a Rosary at 4:00 PM. The culmination of her memorial will take place at St. John Paul II Parish (formerly Transfiguration Church), located at 5830 Simon Street, Detroit, MI 48212, with the instate starting on January 23, 2025, at 10:30 AM, and the Funeral Mass starting at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan.

In celebrating the life of Lorraine Agnes Witkowski, we honor a woman who lived fully, loved fiercely, and laughed heartily. She leaves behind a legacy that will forever inspire those fortunate enough to have known her and those who will hear her story in the years to come.
