Magdelina "Maggie" Mochan, a beloved matriarch and vibrant spirit, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2025, in her cherished hometown of Warren, Michigan, at the age of 87. Born on December 30, 1937, Maggie was a radiant light who brought joy and laughter to all who knew her.
Maggie's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love for her family and friends. She cherished her husband, John Paul Mochan, with whom she shared an extraordinary 64 years of marriage. Their bond was one of mutual admiration and unwavering support, a partnership that stood as a testament to enduring love. Together, they built a life filled with laughable moments, warm memories, and a family that flourished under their guidance.
She is survived by her two devoted daughters, Linda (James) Rotarius and Nancy Mochan, who carry forward her spirit in their hearts and lives. Maggie took great pride in her family, and her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Paul (Lisa) Rotarius and Timothy (Whitney) Rotarius, as well as her great-granddaughter, Isabella Rotarius. Each of them has been touched by her warmth, kindness, and the contagious laughter she spread wherever she went.
Maggie had a playful and vivacious personality; she truly loved life and enjoyed a good time. Her charming sense of humor and infectious laughter made her a source of joy at any gathering. Maggie excelled at bringing people together and loved to have parties filled with delicious food and merriment. An excellent cook, she showcased her culinary skills for family gatherings, ensuring that every meal was a celebration. Pastimes that brought her happiness included dancing, bowling, playing cards, and visits to the casino, where she delighted in testing her luck. She approached each day with a twinkle in her eye, preferring to embrace the lighter side of life, and rarely taking herself too seriously.
Maggie's family ties were profound; she was the youngest of eight siblings, all of whom have preceded her in death. She carried the memory of her brothers and sisters fondly, drawing strength from the cherished moments they shared as a family. Maggie also mourned the loss of her sons, James and David Mochan. Each of these relationships and losses molded her into the person she became, and her cherished family undoubtedly welcomed her into their eternal embrace with love.
Though she has departed from this earthly realm, Maggie Mochan's impact will resonate eternally through the lives she has touched. Her laughter will echo in the hearts of her loved ones, and her devoted spirit will remain in their cherished memories. Visitation will take place at Wysocki Funeral Home in Warren, MI, on February 18, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A service honoring Maggie's life will be held the following day at the funeral home, February 19, 2025, at 10:00 AM, with visitation starting at 9:00 AM. All are invited to pay their respects and share in the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.
