Richard "Richie" Zellinger

Richard "Richie" W. Zellinger passed away April 11, 2021.

Richie was the loving father of Jennifer (Adam) Jansen, Jenese (Patrick) Dorris, the late Jessica Engle-Warren, and Raychelle Zellinger; devoted grandpa of Rylee Montgomery, Casey Jansen, Nathan Warren, Patrick Charles Dorris III, and Harley Raelynn Quigley; dear son of Marsha Senkowski and the late Kenneth Zellinger; and brother of the late Michelle Zellinger, Helene (Joseph) Wanczyk, Elaine (David) Gorak, and Linda (the late Thomas) Kriss.  He was also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Richie had music in his blood. He loved it; listening to it, going to concerts, everything about it, he loved music. He always proudly wore his love of music on his chest with his extensive rock n' roll t-shirt collection. Richie also really enjoyed a good party and was always the last to leave. He was, without a doubt, a people person and everybody was his friend. Richie was a hard worker. He was a bricklayer by trade but was a jack-of-all trades kind of guy. He was also an animal lover, especially dogs. Above all, Richie loved his family. He particularly had a strong bond with his grandkids and was one heck of a grandpa.

If you would care to channel Richie's spirit with us, please wear a band or concert shirt to the visitation on Friday evening, if able. It would mean a great deal to his family.

Visitation Friday, April 16, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary Service at David Wysocki Funeral Home, 29440 Ryan Road, Warren, Michigan. Instate Saturday, April 17, 10:30 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Justin's Catholic Church, Hazel Park. Interment will take place at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Detroit, Michigan. Masks are mandatory for all services. The funeral home capacity is currently 25 people at any given time. Please be patient and respectful by following the staff's directions so we may make sure everyone has a chance to pay their respects to Richie and his family.
