Robert David Brinkman, age 91, passed away February 13, 2022.
Robert was the beloved husband of the late Mary Jeanne Brinkman for 41 years; loving father of Jeanne (Jeff) Pileri and Douglas (Julia) Brinkman; devoted grandfather of Jennifer (Geoff) Blake, Eric (Katelyn) Brinkman, and Juliane (Eric) Timmreck; proud great-grandfather of Sam, Wesley, and Eliza; and dear brother of Vivian (the late John) Buck, Lorraine (the late Edmund) Goossens, Ronald (Wanda) Brinkman, and Marilyn (the late Rod) Karpinen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Robert was born in Detroit on October 27, 1930 to Henry and Stella Brinkman. He was a Korean War Army Veteran, where he earned a Purple Heart. Robert had a long career as a Lithographer working on many commercial printing projects on the years and was a member of the Graphic Arts International Union. He was strong in his faith as well, having been a member of St. Dorothy, St. Clement, and St. Mary, Our Lady of Families Churches over the years. Above all, he loved and cared for his family. He loved spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids. Getting together with family at his cottage was one of his favorite things.
A Memorial Mass will be held in his honor on Saturday, June 25. The Mass will take place at St. Mary, Our Lady Queen of Families Parish (formerly St. Clement Catholic Church), 25252 Van Dyke Avenue, Center Line, Michigan 48015. Visiting will start at 10:30 a.m. and the Memorial Mass will start at 11:00 a.m.
