Robert D. Potter, age 86, passed away October 21, 2024. 

Robert D. Potter, age 86, passed away October 21, 2024. Robert was the beloved husband of Barbara Potter (Hammer); loving father of Wendy Potter and Joelle (Robert) Maleszyk; devoted grandfather of Allie Cuva, Jacob Cuva, Joseph Maleszyk, and Benjamin Maleszyk; dear brother of the late Ann Potter, the late William (the late Margie) Potter, Kermit (Patricia) Potter, and Margaret Potter. He was also survived by his goddaughter/niece Kristen (Christopher) Briggs, several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Bob graduated in 1956 from Grosse Pointe High School. Due to the sudden death of his father, he went immediately into the family business, Phelps Time Lock Service. He eventually became part-owner and salesman. He proudly served in the Army Reserves for seven years. In later life, he also worked for Crest Lincoln-Mercury. He married Barbara Hammer (Grosse Pointe High School, 1958), and they celebrated 61 years of marriage last December. Bob spent many hours devoting his time and efforts to Amazing Grace Lutheran Church, formerly Holy Redeemer, in Warren. Bob loved golf and missed playing in recent years. Bob lived a wonderful life, enjoyed a good Manhattan, and anything chocolate. He was a true Lions fan who would be very pleased to know that there really is hope this year for a Lions win! Go Lions! 

Visitation Sunday, November 3, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Wysocki & Wilk Funeral Home, 29440 Ryan, Warren. Instate Monday, November 4, from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service at Amazing Grace Lutheran Church, 29860 Dequindre, Warren, with Military Honors to follow.
