Shirley Ann (Koresky) Racicot, 82, of Warren, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday evening, May 13, 2020. She was born November 14, 1937 in East Detroit, Michigan to the late John and Helen (Kordalski) Koresky.
Shirley attended East Detroit High School. She then met Lewis Walter Racicot at the neighborhood drugstore soda fountain. Shirley always loved to tell us about how they would get a large group together and go out dancing. Shirley married Lou on November 26, 1955 at St. Veronica Catholic Church in East Detroit, MI. They went on to have three sons, and raised them in Warren, MI where they lived since 1964. After raising her family, Shirley worked a variety of jobs. Shirley was a licensed beautician and did hair out of her basement. She also worked as a clerk at Great Scott Supermarkets, and then lastly, she worked at Motor City Fastener until her retirement 20 years later.
Shirley thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family. Shirley and Lou attended every single activity and sporting event for their five grandchildren. They also enjoyed spending time up north at their cabin on Vaughn Lake in Glennie, MI. Boat rides, sitting around the campfire and the company of family is what Shirley loved most. The love and laughter of her family brought her tremendous joy as she would beam during holiday gatherings and special occasions.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 64 years, Lewis Racicot; sons, Keith (Donna) Racicot of Sterling Heights, MI, Kurt Racicot of Warren, MI and Mark (Patty) Racicot of Waterford, MI; granddaughters Amanda (John) Seabaugh of Granger, IN and Loren Racicot of Walled Lake, MI; grandsons Timothy Racicot of Roseville, MI, Ryan Racicot of Warren, MI and Brett Racicot of Lansing, MI; great-grandson Matthew Seabaugh of Granger, IN; sister Dolly Holland of Zephyrhills, FL; and preceded in death by her late brothers Bill (Mary) Koresky of Sterling Heights, MI and Mike Koresky of West Branch, MI.
Due to Covid-19 concerns, a private family service will take place. The family is hoping to gather at a later date to celebrate Shirley's life.
Please share a memory, thought, or prayer with the family here on Shirley's Tribute Wall.
