Son Ngoc Duong, age 70, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 22, 2024.
He is survived by his beautiful wife, Hue Nguyen; son of the late Hoa Duong and Khanh Nguyen; brother of the late Quang Duong, Huy Duong, Hai Duong and survived by his brothers and sisters, Ngoc Duong, Hoa Duong, Hung Duong, and Tuyen Duong; loving father of An Duong, Dung (Linh Nguyen) Duong, and Dang (Justine) Duong; devoted grandfather of Leyanna Nguyen (8), Daniel Nguyen (6), and Liam Duong (1);
Son was born in Ha Noi, Vietnam in 1954 and was diagnosed with polio at an early age. Despite his disability he went on to study at a university to become a pharmacist. He would then go on to open a pharmacy with his wife, Hue. He never allowed his disability to come in between himself and his goals in life. Son enjoyed tinkering and fixing miscellaneous items around his home. He loved being around his family and playing with his grandchildren. He had a brightness about him that everyone around him could see. Son had a fighting spirit and never gave up when things got difficult, he always found a way to persevere. Son continued this fighting spirit until God called him home.
Visitation will be held Sunday, August 25, from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Wysocki & Wilk Funeral Home, 29440 Ryan Road, Warren, Michigan. Instate Monday, August 26, from 9:30 a.m. until the 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Grace Parish, 26256 Ryan Road, Warren, Michigan. Interment will follow the service at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan.
