Vernon D. Hill

Vernon Dale Hill, age 79, passed away December 31, 2023.

Vernon was the beloved husband of Judith A. Hill for 60 years; loving father of the late Melissa Hill and Mickey (Armanda) Hill; devoted grandfather of Delaney and Corbin Hill; and dear brother of Jim, Emogene, Gary, Carolyn, Shirley, Angie, the late Iris, the late Marilyn, the late Darlene, and the late Melvin. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Vernon loved his time at Hazel Park High School, from which he graduated. He especially enjoyed being involved in the sports programs there. He was on the track, football, and basketball teams. He was very proud that he set the state record in the pole vault event at 13' 3 1/2" at the time. He was a mentor to many throughout his time on the teams in high school as well as in his career making molds for injection molding. He was a calm and stately person, who was kind to everyone he met. Vernon was truly a friend to all.

Vernon’s life will be celebrated by family and friends privately and his memory will live on always.
