Gerald “Jerry” Kozlowski was born in Detroit, Michigan, on July 26, 1930, to his parents, Stanley and Antoinette Kozlowski. He died of natural causes on February 18, 2024. Jerry served his country honorably in the Korean War. He was a long-time resident of Warren, Michigan, though he spent his youth in Detroit. Jerry retired from Warren Consolidated Schools, and previously operated his own milk and dairy delivery service. Jerry was the second youngest and last surviving sibling of ten brothers and one sister. Jerry’s love of family was rivaled only by his love and passion for all things Detroit and Michigan sports related. If only his beloved Detroit Lions could have delivered a Super Bowl win before his passing.
Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years, Delphine, his parents, and eleven siblings, Theresa, Joseph, Richard, John, Chester, Leo, Harry, Stanley, Edward, Robert, and Raymond.
He is survived by his sons Gerald and David (Katie), his two grandsons, Curtis and Brendan, and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their deepest thanks to the many friends and relatives who would pop in for a visit during Jerry’s days at Pomeroy Skilled Care. The family would also like to thank the staff, nurses and aids at Pomeroy for their care and compassion for Jerry.
Visitation will be held at Wysocki & Wilk Funeral Home at 29440 Ryan Road in Warren, Michigan from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. Rosary Service on Wednesday, February 28, 2024. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Thursday, February 29, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. when we will be leaving in procession to have the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Louise Church at 2500 Twelve Mile Road at 10:00 a.m.
